This document
I'm writing this document to make it easier for the package maintainers of different distributions to understand the components of Centreon and where and how they should be installed. Currently the installation is done by a script (install.sh) but this doesn't work for people in need of a stable and properly maintained environment which relies on distribution specific packages (RPM, DEB, Gentoo ebuild, Slackware tgz, ...)
The components
The Webinterface
The webinterface consists of everything in the directory www. It also depends on the contents of the GPL_LIB directory which provides some JavaScript and PHP code required by the webinterface.
The Plugins
The Data Storage - ODS (Oreon Data Storage)
Will this be renamed to CDS (Centreon Data Storage?
The Cron Jobs
According to the Development Roadmap they will be replaced by a Centreon Daemon - until then, this part describes the cron jobs
Customizations
Which paths need to be customized in which file to make Centreon running in your distributions filesystem hierarchy?
(a table containing more detailed information will follow)
